The Season starts in about 30 days. You've seen all the summer travel hullaballo, you know where players landed post transfer. So time to put out your preseason "don't sleep on" list of players and teams. Who do you think will come out of nowhere all darkhorse and be the five players that shine unexpectedly and the five teams that shine unexpectedly! So give it your best shot, earn your keep and let's see if you're as good as you say you are per knowing hoops and scouting prowess!!

in my opinion sleeper teams are

Melvindale ABT- maybe the best team in michigan
Southfield- loaded with 3 stud juniors
North Farmington- Has a good 2 man duo in kyle and big urb
A.A. Richaud- have weapons at the point perimeter and post
Pontiac (phoenix) high- may have one of the top little man backcourts in the state

As Far as players

Trevon baker-desmond barnes gave him the key and I belive that he is a better point guard than ray Lee
Patrick Onwenu-Freak athlete with 3 point range, I would not be suprised if he is an all stater
Ron Ron- Don't know his full name but he is as impressive as any freshman in the state. At Melvindale
Kenny Knight- will be forced to start for DCD and that itself comes with great responcibility
Shannon Williams- been there since the beginning now with a star studded team he has to lead, theis success depends on him.

First I see a rematch of the Class A championship. Southeastern is my substitute team for Pershing.

I see the winner of the Powers/DCD game winning Class B...but E. Grand Rapids' Colin Voss is the state's toughest match-up and they might be there, too.

I also see a rematch of the Class C championship and Melvindale ABT wins without redshirt seniors...Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard has a great shot.

Western Michigan Christian is my repeat winner in Class D.

My picks might seem bland but every team mentioned has their core group returning...except for Country Day...and they have the top player in 2011 and a high major point guard.

Sleeper teams: Rockford, Inkster, Detroit Denby, Detroit Cass Tech, and Holt.

Sleeper players aren't so much sleepers to me because I've been watching them for the last 6 months or longer are Oak Park Academy's Kendrick Ward, Detroit Douglas' Tim Bates, Jalen Reynolds, Romulus' Justin Moss, Cooley's Jerrell McKinney, Gull Lake's Trent Messer, Grand Blanc's Bill Sams, Bay City Western's Brian Ellis, Cass Tech's Marlin Mason...

. .... if you can call Inkster a "sleeper" team given they made it to Breslin blowing everyone out until they lost to the eventual state champ Powers' in the state champs' closest game, noting only Wyandotte and Taylor Truman played Inkster as well as Powers, and that they return everyone.

Coach Bruce, real smart to put that Detroit Cody has been beating up on Fred Douglas and ABT this fall. So you mean to tell me that those teams been scrimmaging in the fall. WOW....

Top sleeper teams
SouthField
North farmington
Saginaw
Detroit Henry Ford
Mt. Pleasant

Sleeper Players

Devontae Carter 6'0 G Detroit Southeastern: around Detroit he's earning respect as more than one PSL coach says he is the best Guard on Southeastern, over kearney.

Charles tucker 5'11 G Lans 2013 Lansing Eastern: Nationally top 30 player could contribute as a a freshman and put up big numbers like a ray Lee from last year.

Kamau Richardson 6'8 and tim Bates 6'6 detroit Douglass-Two new forwards that are new to Douglasses team this season along with 2 returning stud forwards.

Lanier Brown 6'6 SF Cass Tech Top 5 SF statewide but is hungry to get his respect, very underrated player. has been slept on

Kaylen Foreman 6'10 Conner Creek Academy-very long very skinny but a great defender, one of the states best shot blockers

Oak Park is not the preseason top 10 in the state shool anymore, but they still have a couple of players, that are slept on..

Jalen Crawford- a 6'2 combo is probably the most slept on player in the 2010 class. He is very athletic and is a great shooter. He also has solid defense, and likes to get his teammates in the game with assist. He may be one of the top 10 players in the state. He's been living under his brothers shadow, and is dying for respect.Look for him to make some noise.

Kenny Harper- a 6'3 wing/guard is another player that has been slept on.Hasnt been around for long but he is good player with a lot of potential.Very long and athletic player.Great at getting to the basket.Descent shooter, but gets most of his points in the paint. Also a great rebounder.Reminds me of his former teammate Kallante Miller
