... there, playing one good half vs MSU! D2 Northwood recovered from getting toughened up by Lansing Community College and amazingly hung with #2 in Nation D1 "elite" MSU, expected by hype rag hypsters to win the Big Ten League and Big Ten Tourney and then return to the Final Four by most national hype rag pollsters accounting. Seriously, you'd have to say freshman laden undermanned mini me frontcourt Northwood was basically winning in the first half, at end of the first half the score was 30 - 33 MSU sneaking to a lead as Northwood's Coach Taylor outcoached MSU's Coach Izzo. MSU faithful were worried about another GVSU, this one more interesting due to Northwood being low on the GLIAC totem poll. But second half Northwood went ice cold and could only muster 15 points. Not to mention Northwood only has ten fellas on the roster and they got worn out vs fresh tall MSUers. So 2nd half MSU went on a little run and controlled the game via rebounding and MSU just kept pulling away due to roster talent in the second half, this most likely due to superior height, noting Northwood's front line peaks at about on guy 6'5", who plays wing, and a frontcourt of 6'3"/4"ers. Frankly Northwood holding MSU to 75 points, and more so holding their frontcourt down, is called foreshadowing! What's amazing about this is is Northwood's not only small, but a really young team. They feature two Mighty Mega Freshman in Wyandotte's VanDeirendonck and Belleville's Stoudmire, and a couple of HFCC transfers in former Mighty Mega Dearborn Fordson's Ali Barada and HFCC's Johnson. Looks like Northwood was ice cold and yet still hung w/ MSU. Does this mean Lansing CC could hang with MSU? You Bet! Here's the boxscore:

Interesting to note two might Mega Northwood Freshman played a whole lot, w/ Mighty Mega's Andrew VanDeirendonck gets 29 minutes and Might Mega's Booker Stoudmire gets 26 minutes. Frankly hard to believe the MAC or Horizon didn't scoop these two fellas up! So w/ V shooting cold as a mackeral it was up to Mega Bro' Stoudmire to be picking V up and putting on a little show going 6-9 and 2-4 from 3 land w/ 15 points, plus he dunked on MSU's guards' tiny heads. OUCH!! Mighty Mega 6'1" PG Booker Stoudmire played like a typical Mega game at PG obviously outplayed and put the hurt on MSU Big Ten POY PG Kalin Lucas, as Stoudmire's in-yo-face Mighty Mega defense unnerved MSU's POY, got in his head, and forced Lucas to try to show he was as good as Stoudmire by jacking as Stoudmire forced him to shoot a miserable 5-21 and 2-7 from 3 land for 16 inefficient points gained only via jackaholism! Maybe Lucas should now do the right thing and give Stoudmire that POY trophy, And How!!

... a lot of the MSU Green Groupies are trying to pin "cheap shot" and "rough play" on the Northwood fellas, whining up a storm! Ridiculous. The only thing that happened was Lucas ran into a pick because either he wasnt' looking or more likely because nobody MSU called it out. Both fellas bumped heads. That's not "cheap shot" you knuckleheads, just inadvertant contact that comes with the game, here due to MSU not playing as as a team talking on defense! FTN says SHAME on the Green Groupies!

... anyone notice that Izzo did not shave his head as he promised publically to do?!! Not that backing out of promises is surprising of Izzo. Just ask M. Joseph or even I. Dahlman. BUT, for the record, looks like another promise broken, so SHAME!
